| About Us | |
Currently GroundForce Gaza consists of unpaid volunteers in Scotland and in Gaza who were sick of seeing the suffering of the Palestinians and wanted to make a difference no matter how small.
Our aim is NOT to replace some of the larger aid agencies that do a great job delivering desperately needed aid.
The difference between us and the other aid agencies is that we work with trusted people on the ground to help individual people and families directly with their needs and requirements e.g. buying medicines, food, chickens ,donkeys etc.that will help them to become self-sufficient.
How We Deliver The Aid
GFG volunteers such as Eva Bartlett, a human rights activist originally from Canada gained entry to Gaza in November 2008 after volunteering in the West Bank (2007). She has been there ever since, reporting on the Israeli war on Gaza and the on-going, nearly 3 year long siege.
She keeps a blog (
www.ingaza.wordpress.com) which gave an accurate description of the lives and deaths of the people of Gaza.
Eva remains in Gaza, trying her utmost to help the homeless families of Gaza who are desperate for aid to help rebuild their lives. She knows families on a personal level. She knows what families desperately need, whether it is to purchase plastic sheeting to put in the place of the bombed out roofs of houses or to purchase blankets, food, medicine or indeed anything to help give comfort.
Eva is asking for our help. We are a long way from Palestine but we can still do something useful. We can help those unfortunate families by sending aid directly to Eva.
